polylingual

I might have made up this new word, but it means the ability to speak more than 2 languages. Doug thinks Caden will be a quad-linguist (4 languages) because we have taught him to say goodbye in 4 languages, English, German, Spanish, and Italian. I informed Doug that while our offspring might be a genius knowing how to say goodbye in 4 languages hardly qualifies one to be polylingual.

I mention this tonight because as we were leaving Dillons this evening, Caden literally shouts, "Adios!" and has spent much of the evening entertaining himself by singing and shouting "Auf Wiedersehn" which for those of you who didn't take high school German or who slept through it means goodbye. We're easily impressed we know, but this all comes from the mouth of a child who could barely speak English 18 months ago. If nothing else, it's cheap entertainment! :)
