zoologist?

This just might be Caden's future profession. He loves animals! At dinner this evening, there was a pretty red bird right outside our kitchen window. Caden got so excited he was jumping up and down on his chair and ran out to the back yard for a better look. When we got home from grocery shopping tonight, Caden was again thrilled to see some "liar flies" (translation, lightning bugs or fire flies). The one thing that drew his attention away from the magical creatures whose abdomens glow in the dark . . . I pointed out that there was a bunny sitting in our front yard. Caden literally popped out of his car seat and ran to catch the bunny. Daddy had told him that if he could catch it he could keep it as a pet. I sharply admonished Doug with "Don't ever tell him that again!" Doug replied, "Don't worry! He'll never catch it!" I warned that this may be true tonight about a rabbit, but I'm willing to bet that sometime in our future Caden is quick enough to catch frogs, crickets, toads, worms, or snakes . . . none of which I'd like cohabitating with us or to surprise me in the pockets of a pair of pants at laundry time. The only pet we can handle is Caden's fish named W. I think I feel a trip to the zoo coming on so Caden can safely see all the animals we wants.
